BALTIC CRUISE

Copenhagen, Denmark

This is the eclectic district of Nyhavn where our hotel was located.
(Please click on pictures for true size - it makes a big difference) :)

The Canal, of many, ran right through the strip.

Showing our hotel in this picture, the brick building towards the end of the strip, which is a converted warehouse. It looked a little precarious when we first arrived, (a bunch of us all from the same plane from Washington DC) but my goodness, what a treat inside. We loved our room. I think they were all mostly unique - not like a hotel room at all, but a beautiful room with many features. We had a lot of fun there..

Great restaurants along the strip on the side that our hotel was located.

We had a great tour of the city on one of these large flat wide boats, they needed to be flat as the many bridges we passed under were, "oh-so-low". So low in fact, that every time we approached one, Rog would duck and shout "JESUS CHRIST" - (praying of course)!

There were several of these bridges ahead. The one you can see in this picture was one of the taller ones! Seriously!

We did a walking tour of the city. Divided into two groups. We were the afternoon group. Very enjoyable. Our guide was excellent. All our guides were excellent.

We walked many times through this square, it was our connection between Nyhavn and the fabulous shopping district.

Two famous families in our group, the Morellas and the Zombacks, accompanied by Marilyn shining in the navy vest.
The next two pictures of Nyhavn were taken from the net, just showing how much even more beautiful this area is on a really sunny day. The weather was not bad at all, especially for the walkers on the afternoon tour, the people featured in this section, but always on a sunnier day, things look even that much better. If it was not for these pictures, I would not have thought it could have been any nicer.:)

Now time to leave Copenhagen for our cruise along the Baltic Sea. The lovely Sarah and Richard from England are here to wave us Goodbye, equipped with Danish flags. Sadly they could not come with us, but it was great that they came specially to share a couple of days with us in Copenhagen. Because of these reunions, I have spent time with Sarah and Richard in three different countries, including my own home and their own home and I shopped with Sarah in Manchester England the last time I was there where we went to an exquisite department store and had a Champagne lunch. It was great to see them again. I wished they could have come with us.
